February is shaping up to be a month of community support in Elizabethton! If you or someone you know could use a helping hand in the areas of substance recovery or weight management, there are plenty of opportunities coming up. It’s all about coming together and lifting each other up in a friendly, welcoming environment. Here’s what’s on the calendar this coming month.

Narcotics Anonymous Meetings

Mark your calendars! Narcotics Anonymous is set to hold multiple meetings throughout the month. The first one kicks off at the Cross Roads Building on Saturday, February 1st, at 12:15 p.m. If you miss that, don’t worry; there’s another meeting on Tuesday, February 4th, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church. This program is all about helping folks recover from drug addiction, and these meetings are a great place to find support and understanding.

Alcoholics Anonymous Gatherings

For those navigating the challenges of alcohol addiction, Elizabethton offers numerous Alcoholics Anonymous meetings as well. The Green Pastures Group will meet on Sunday, February 2nd, at 8 p.m. at 411 E. Elk Ave. and will return again for additional meetings throughout the month. Notably, the Still Waters Group also has a meeting on Thursday, February 6th at 8 p.m.. There are many chances to connect, share experiences, and support each other, so don’t hesitate to attend.

TOPS—Take Off Pounds Sensibly

Weight management is another important area for community support this February. TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) is back with sessions starting on Monday, February 3rd, at the First Baptist Church. If you’re looking to get healthier and shed some pounds in a positive and friendly community, be sure to attend the weigh-in from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. followed by the meeting at 6:45 p.m.

Al-Anon Meetings—“Free to Be Me”

For those impacted by someone’s alcohol use, Al-Anon offers a healing space. The “Free to Be Me” group has meetings on several Wednesdays, starting February 5th at 6 p.m.. This support network is perfect for anyone looking to share their experiences and find solace in similar stories.

Open Recovery Meetings

Another exciting addition to the support lineup is the “New Way of Life” open recovery meeting. This 12-step-based gathering will take place at noon on February 5th at 413 E. Elk Ave. It’s a great opportunity for individuals to explore recovery in a friendly environment and meet new friends along the way.
