Whether you’re looking to stay active, learn something new, or just socialize, there’s something for everyone at the center!
Open Hours You Can Count On
The Senior Center is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. from Monday to Thursday and 8 a.m. to 12 noon on Fridays. The billiard and fitness rooms are available for use without appointments, so you can pop in any time during these hours!
Here’s a Sneak Peek at This Week’s Activities
Kick off your week with some invigorating activities starting on Monday, January 27. Join the Just Keep Movin’ cardio class at 9 a.m. to get your heart pumping, followed by a hearty lunch featuring breaded chicken tenders at 11 a.m. After lunch, unwind with Chair Yoga taught by Shirley Gomillian for just $3, or flow gently into the afternoon with Gentle Flow Yoga guided by Cindy Brugnoletti, also for $3.
On Tuesday, January 28, start your day right with the Stay Strong – Stay Healthy program from 9 to 10 a.m. This free, 8-week course in partnership with UT Extension focuses on strength building, flexibility, and balance. After a delicious lunch featuring cheeseburgers and potato casserole, get ready to shake it up with Line Dancing led by Sharon Pilk from 12 to 1 p.m. for just $3.
Midweek fun continues on Wednesday, January 29 with another round of the Just Keep Movin’ cardio class. Fish lovers will enjoy lunch with breaded fish and tartar sauce. Then, you can choose to join Chair Yoga or Gentle Flow Yoga for a relaxing afternoon.
The fun doesn’t stop on Thursday, January 30. Join the second week of Stay Strong – Stay Healthy from 9 to 10 a.m., followed by a Brain-Body-Boost class at 10 a.m. to keep both your body and brain active and engaged. Enjoy a warm bowl of minestrone soup for lunch, and don’t miss the Fundraising Committee Meeting at 12:30 p.m., featuring coffee and donuts to energize your brainstorming!
Wrap up the week on Friday, January 31. Join the morning Just Keep Movin’ session one last time, and then it’s time for Birthday Bingo at 10 a.m., with delicious cupcakes and refreshments sponsored by the Women’s Civic Club of Elizabethton. Cap off your week with a cozy lunch of chicken pot pie and perhaps a few winning moments from the bingo game!
Volunteer Opportunities and Community Support
