Hey there, Elizabethton residents! Get ready for a fun-filled week as the senior center gears up to host a variety of activities from January 20th to January 24th, 2025! Whether you’re looking to stay active, enjoy a tasty meal, or simply connect with fellow community members, there’s something for everyone!
Location & Hours
The Elizabethton Senior Center is situated at 428 East G Street. The center is open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on Friday from 8 a.m. to 12 noon. Did you know that the billiard room and fitness room are available for everyone? No appointments needed – just drop in and have some fun!
Monday, January 20 – A Day of Reflection
On Monday, we pause to observe Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Please note that there will be no meals served, and the center will be closed for the day. Take this time to reflect and honor the legacy of Dr. King in your own way.
Tuesday, January 21 – Engage Your Strength!
Tuesday kicks off the week with a bang! Join the Stay Strong – Stay Healthy program, a fantastic 8-week free course led by UT Extension focusing on strength building, flexibility, and balance. It runs from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Trust us; you don’t want to miss it!
And how about some comfort food? The lunch menu features delicious meatloaf served at 11 a.m.. After lunch, put on your dancing shoes for some line dancing with the fabulous instructor Sharon Pilk from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. A small donation of $3 is all you need to join in on the dancing fun!
Wednesday, January 22 – Move and Groove!
Wednesday is all about keeping active! Start your day bright and early with the Just Keep Movin’ session at 9 a.m. to get that heart rate up! After that, join in on Qigong at 10 a.m. for only $3.
Lunch on Wednesday is a favorite – BBQ Riblet awaits you at 11 a.m.. And don’t forget, we have Chair Yoga at 12:15 p.m. and Gentle Flow Yoga, both for $3, perfect for those looking to unwind and stretch!
Thursday, January 23 – Let’s Brainstorm!
Thursday brings a repeat of the energetic Stay Strong – Stay Healthy course at 9 a.m.. We then invite you to join the Brain-Body-Boost session at 10 a.m. to enhance your mind and body coordination.
Grab a warm bowl of soup beans served at 11 a.m. for lunch. And for all our veterans out there, the Vet Café, sponsored by Caris Healthcare, takes place from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.. It’s a great way to connect and share stories with fellow veterans!
Friday, January 24 – Wrapping Up the Week!
As the week draws to a close, don’t miss the Just Keep Movin’ session at 9 a.m. for some cardio and toning! Then, get ready for some fun and games with a lively game of Bingo hosted by Oasis Senior Advisors at 10 a.m.
And of course, Friday’s lunch will have you savoring a delightful chicken tortilla soup at 11 a.m. Sounds fantastic, right?

If you want to lend a hand, the senior center is looking for volunteers! Interested individuals can call 543-4255 to find out about becoming a driver for home-delivered meals.
