, CT – Everett E. Tatro, a cherished family man and respected member of the community, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2025, at the age of 88, surrounded by his family. His death has left a void in the hearts of those who knew him and loved him dearly.

Everett was born on February 13, 1937, in Stamford, Vermont, as the oldest of 12 children to the late Everett and Frances (Goodrow) Tatro. He grew up on Tatro Road, a place that held special significance for him throughout his life. After moving to Bristol nearly 50 years ago, he and his wife Joan (Tessier), whom he married in 1957, became long-time members of St. Gregory the Great Parish.

In his professional life, Everett dedicated over 40 years to Jenson Machine Co. in Newington. Known for his strong work ethic and meticulous attention to detail, Everett took great pride in his work and left a lasting impression on his colleagues. After retiring, he stayed active and found joy in nature and outdoor activities, embracing his passions for gardening, hunting, and fishing.

Everett was an active member of the Bristol Fish and Game Club, where he shared his love for the outdoors with fellow enthusiasts. He had a fondness for country music and enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. In his leisure time, he could often be found savoring hot dogs from Capital Lunch or taking a trip to Cabela’s. His interests also included classic monster movies, with a particular fondness for films featuring iconic characters like King Kong and Godzilla.

Known for his distinct sense of humor, Everett often made others laugh with his funny faces and infectious laughter. He is survived by his devoted wife Joan, with whom he shared 68 years of marriage, and their four children: Donna Bolduc (late husband Mark), Virginia Janick (husband Peter), Mary Baillargeon (husband Norman), and James Tatro (wife Melissa). He also leaves behind many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, continuing a legacy of love and family.

Tragically, Joan and Everett were predeceased by two of their children, Brenda Youman-Glasper and William Tatro. He is survived by several of his siblings, including Frances Dewolfe, Loretta Maynard, Deborah Tatro, and Cheryl Dunn. His brother, Alan Tatro, is also among the remaining family members, accompanied by several nieces and nephews. Six of his siblings had predeceased him, marking a profound sense of loss within the Tatro family.

In lieu of flowers, Everett’s family requests that memorial honors be made by enjoying the outdoors, planting a garden, making someone laugh, or sharing a hot dog in his memory. Family and friends are invited to gather at Plainville Funeral Home on Monday, September 29, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Gregory the Great Parish. A committal service will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery in Bristol. Online expressions of sympathy can be shared through the Plainville Funeral Home website.

As Bristol mourns the loss of Everett E. Tatro, community members remember him not only for his contributions but also for the warmth and humor he brought into their lives. His legacy will undoubtedly be felt for many years to come.
