A life member of the First United Methodist Church of Bristol, Harold was deeply involved in church activities including the vocal choir and Handbell choir. He also served on the church’s board as Lay Leader and participated in youth activities.
Harold was a Charter Member of the Bristol Cultural and Historical Foundation, where he served as past President and edited the newsletter for over 30 years. He participated in Historic Bristol Day as a walking tour guide and hosted foreign teachers and students through the America Host Program. Additionally, he was an active volunteer at the Margaret R. Grundy Library in Bristol post-retirement.
He is survived by his sister Elizabeth Keon, sister-in-law Anne Haines, brother-in-law Dr. M. Kenneth Houser, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and three Godsons. A viewing for Harold will take place on October 13, 2025, from 6-8 PM at Wade Funeral Home in Bristol, followed by his funeral service on October 14, 2025, at 10 AM at First United Methodist Church, with interment at Bristol Cemetery.

He initially attended Eastern Arizona College before transferring to Mankato State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business. He began his career with State Farm Insurance in November 1966.
Lonnie was an active member of his community, participating in Bible Study Fellowship, Community Bible Study, and The Gideons International. He was a devoted member of Hosanna Lutheran Church and was inspired by a keynote speaker at a national convention of State Farm agents to live by the philosophy of loving one’s neighbor.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Catherine, their children Corey, Stacey, K. Matthew, and Samuel, along with grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his brother Gerald and sister-in-law Carol Severson. Lonnie’s funeral service will be held at Hosanna Lutheran Church in Mankato on October 3, 2025, with visitation at 11:00 AM and service at 1:00 PM. Memorials may be given to Hosanna Lutheran Church.
