Life and Family

Born on March 13, 1940, Ben was the fourth of five children in the Nobles family, born to Lillard and Willie Belle Patton Nobles. He was preceded in death by his three sisters, Deane Cooper, Mary Elizabeth Davis, and Willie Sue Harrell. He is survived by his brother, Gerry (Faye) Nobles.

Ben was married to Carylon Fay Nobles, who passed away before him. Together, they raised two children: Keith (Donna) Nobles and Amy Nobles. The couple was particularly proud of their granddaughter, Callie Lynn Nobles, who brought great joy to their lives.

Career and Community Involvement

Ben graduated from Central High School in 1958 and went on to have a successful career at Atmos Energy, where he worked for 20 years before retiring in 1997. Throughout his career, he lived in both Bristol, Tennessee, and Hannibal, Missouri, forming lasting friendships in each location.

A longtime member of Westwood Baptist Church, Ben devoted many years to teaching Sunday School, reflecting his commitment to his faith and community involvement. His contributions to the church and the lives of his students left an indelible mark on those he served.

Final Arrangements

A service to celebrate Ben’s life was held on July 3, 2025, at Roselawn Memorial Funeral Home, beginning with visitation at 10:00 am, followed by the service at 12:00 noon. Pastor Jason Morrison of Westwood Baptist Church officiated the ceremony, ensuring that Ben’s legacy of faith and community was honored.

Members of Ben’s Sunday School class served as pallbearers, highlighting the strong bonds he created over the years. Following the service, interment took place in Roselawn Gardens, allowing friends and family to bid farewell to a beloved figure in their lives.
