Having recently secured second place at the Bluegrass Half Marathon in Johnson City last September, Brunecz also triumphed at the Haunted Half-Marathon in Kingsport in October 2023, showcasing his passion and competitive spirit in the sport.

The 2024 Crazy 8s event marked a significant milestone as it became the first-ever USA Track & Field 8K road race championship for both men and women. The elite start of the race commenced shortly after 9 p.m. ET, creating a vibrant atmosphere under the evening sky.

Both Muhumed and Smith received a prize of $5,000 for their exceptional performances.
