NHRA aims to ensure a smooth experience for fans and participants, encouraging attendees to stay updated through their platforms.

BRISTOL, TENNESSEE – The National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) has announced a schedule adjustment for the qualifying sessions during the Super Grip NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals at Bristol Dragway, due to the potential for inclement weather. Organizers have made changes to the timing of multiple events that were initially planned for Friday.

With the forecast predicting adverse weather conditions, NHRA officials have taken proactive measures to ensure that the weekend’s events can proceed as smoothly as possible. As part of the revised schedule, the Pro Stock Motorcycle qualifying session has been shifted to 3:00 p.m. ET, allowing for an earlier start to the day’s activities. Following this session, the Pro Stock qualifying will take place at 5:30 p.m. ET.

The sequence of events for Funny Car and Top Fuel will adjust accordingly, with the Funny Car qualifying session now set for 4:00 p.m. ET, and the Top Fuel qualifying session scheduled for 6:30 p.m. ET. The Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series will still kick off at 8:00 a.m. ET on Friday, with early morning races expected to begin the day.

Further updates regarding any possible modifications to the weekend schedule will be communicated by NHRA as necessary. Fans and participants are advised to keep an eye on NHRA.com and the organization’s various social media platforms for the latest information.

Tickets for the Super Grip NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals remain available through the NHRA website, where spectators can purchase passes to witness the thrilling drag races and support their favorite drivers.

Nations across the globe recognize NHRA as the primary sanctioning body for organized drag racing events, overseeing a total of 20 national events each year. These events showcase different drag racing series, including the renowned NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series and the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, both celebrated for their exciting competitions and fan engagement.

The NHRA Summit Racing Series, in addition to the major national events, provides diverse competition opportunities for racers, regardless of their skill level or experience. This program enables drivers and enthusiasts to engage in the sport and showcase their talents on the drag strip.

NHRA not only promotes drag racing competition but also invests in educational initiatives, reaching over 30,000 students annually with programs designed to inspire and educate youth about the mechanics and science behind racing. These programs play a crucial role in attracting the next generation of motorsports enthusiasts.

In terms of infrastructure, NHRA owns and operates three prominent racing facilities across the United States, located in Gainesville, Lucas Oil Indianapolis, and Pomona. These venues serve as hubs for both local and national racing events throughout the year.

For this specific event, the MISSION® food brand, owned by GRUMA, S.A.B. de C.V., is a formal sponsor of the Super Grip NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals.
