Big News in Hendersonville: Kade Pomeroy Signs to Play Baseball at King University!

Exciting times are on the horizon for Hendersonville as one of its very own, senior Kade Pomeroy, has officially signed his letter of intent to play college baseball at King University. The announcement came during a special ceremony that took place on Thursday, January 20, 2025. For Kade, this marks a significant step toward pursuing his dream of playing at the collegiate level.

A Star Player Ready for College Life

During his time with the Hendersonville Commandos, Kade took on the dual roles of first baseman and pitcher in his junior year, showcasing his versatility and talent on the field. As he heads to King University, he will be taking on the position of pitcher, where his skills and determination can shine even brighter.

Reflecting on Kade’s performance from the last season, it’s clear that he was someone to watch. He pitched in 11 games, starting in five of those. Over the course of the season, he boasted an impressive 4.44 ERA (Earned Run Average), a statistic that illustrates just how effective he has been on the mound. Pitching is all about consistency and skill, and Kade certainly delivered.

Striking Success on the Mound

Who doesn’t love a good strikeout? Kade sure knows how to bring the heat, as he racked up a solid total of 34 strikeouts over just a little more than 28 innings of work. In addition to his undeniable skills, Kade also achieved one win and one save during the season, proving that he not only is a valuable player but also a reliable one.

What’s even more impressive is how Kade ended his season. In his last four appearances, he allowed only one earned run, and faced off against some tough competition that included state tournament teams like Blackman, Sycamore, Beech, and Station Camp. Talk about being battle-tested!

Offensive Power as Well

But that’s not all! Kade is a well-rounded player with some serious hitting abilities, too. He finished the season with a batting average of .279, which is commendable in a competitive environment. His offensive contributions featured one triple, one home run, and a total of nine RBIs throughout the season. Kade’s ability to contribute on both sides of the game makes him an exciting player to watch!

Joining Forces with Fellow Classmate

It’s worth mentioning that Kade won’t be the only Commandos player making the jump to college baseball. He’ll be joining fellow college signee and infielder Trenton Wood, who is set to play at Mississippi Delta Community College. It’s great to see how the Hendersonville baseball legacy continues to grow, with its talented players aiming for greater heights.

Looking Forward

As Kade prepares to don the King University colors, there’s no doubt that the community will be cheering him on. It’s not every day that a local athlete gets the opportunity to play at the collegiate level, and Kade Pomeroy is living proof that hard work, determination, and passion pay off. The Commandos bolster their legacy as two of their top athletes embark on an exciting new chapter in their baseball careers.

Here’s to a fantastic journey ahead for Kade at King University as he steps out onto the field to represent Hendersonville! Go, Kade, go!
