NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee State grabbed a 7-3 lead early in the third quarter at Nissan Stadium, then watched Southeast Missouri score 21 unanswered points and pull away for a 33-14 victory on Saturday.

Daylin Lee went 20-for-36 through the air for 273 yards and a pair of scores. After Jalen LaBranche picked off Wilson inside the Tigers’ 3 on the opening series, the Tigers later took the lead when Lee hit Aaron Duncan II from 3 yards out and Britton Watts added the extra point with 11:03 left in the third.

The Redhawks (6-4, 4-1 Ohio Valley Conference) answered immediately. Khyair Spain scored from a yard out to cap an 11-play, 75-yard drive, and DJ Delmore picked off Lee and went 45 yards the other way for a score, making it 17-7. Wilson then broke free from 23 yards out as the third quarter expired.

Spain finished with 160 rushing yards and two scores. Wilson ran for 140 yards and a touchdown. Southeast Missouri piled up 362 rushing yards to Tennessee State’s 47, its best ground game of the season.

Tennessee State (2-8, 0-5) won the passing battle 277-58 and forced two turnovers, including a fumble recovered by Taeshawn Jefferson after Bryce Gray forced it. Curtis paced the Tennessee State defense with 13 stops, and Epoki Fakaosi added 10. The Tigers host Eastern Illinois next Saturday, Nov. 14, at Nissan Stadium in Nashville.
