ARLINGTON, Texas — Arizona trailed for the entire afternoon at AT&T Stadium until a backup quarterback changed everything. Gardner Minshew replaced Jacoby Brissett late in the third quarter and led the Cardinals to a 33-30 overtime win over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.

Dallas had held a two-score cushion for much of the game. Minshew then turned all four of his possessions in regulation into touchdowns, throwing three scoring passes in the second half, the last one tying the game with six seconds to go. He finished 17 of 23 for 188 yards.

Kicker Chad Ryland missed the extra point that would have won it in regulation. He made up for it in overtime, sending a 42-yard field goal through after the Arizona defense held.

Running back Tyler Allgeier did major damage on the ground, piling up 147 rushing yards on only 11 carries, nearly all of it after halftime, including a 63-yard touchdown run. He also caught a touchdown pass. Arizona outgained Dallas 467 to 261.

Brissett had struggled before the switch, going 10 for 23 for 119 yards with an interception while being sacked four times. Dallas defender Quinnen Williams had two of those sacks, giving him a team-best five this season. Dak Prescott threw for 195 yards and a touchdown and ran for his first score of the year, but the Cowboys managed only 93 yards on 39 rushes.

Both teams are now 3-5. Arizona is unbeaten in five all-time trips to AT&T Stadium and has taken nine of the last 10 meetings. The Cardinals face Seattle next Sunday, and coach Mike LaFleur did not yet name a starting quarterback.
