BRISTOL, Tenn. — Early ballots are already moving in Bristol for the Nov. 3 general election, and the city’s share of the slate covers a trio of City Council races alongside three school board openings.

Tennessee opened its early voting period in midweek and keeps the window open through Oct. 29. Bristol’s city contests locked into that same stretch, with local early voting available since Oct. 14.

Come Election Day, Bristol will fill those council and school board seats. Neighboring Bluff City has its own municipal choices the same Tuesday, including the mayor’s office and two aldermanic posts.

Sullivan County voters have already cast early ballots at Bristol’s Slater Center during the 2026 primary season, so that site is a familiar stop for many people who live elsewhere in the county.

Statewide guidance sits with the Tennessee Secretary of State’s office. Tre Hargett’s elections pages list November 3 election information, a registration-status checker and a tool to find each county election commission before Nov. 3.

Anyone hoping to avoid Election Day crowds still has about two weeks of early voting left. After Oct. 29, the next chance is the Tuesday general election itself.

County election commissions run the polling places day to day. The secretary of state’s office keeps the statewide calendar, honor-vote materials and voter-help links updated through the November cycle so Bristol residents can confirm deadlines without guessing.

With both city hall and school board seats on the line, turnout during the early window could shape how quickly lines move on Nov. 3 at Bristol’s Election Day precincts.
